Exploring Innovation at Port Oostende - where Maritime Industry meets Research & Development
Tuesday 10 December 2024 Port Oostende
His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians bestowed upon the Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce (BJA) the honor to take part in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the BJA.
During these 60 years, the BJA has promoted closer ties between Belgium and Japan on a multitude of levels, ranging from economic and cultural to personal relations. Our two countries share a long common heritage, and the collaboration takes an ever-increasing range of forms and contents. The close bonds between the Japanese Imperial family and the Belgian Royal family further strengthen the relationship between Belgium and Japan. From its founding onwards and throughout the many decades, the BJA had the privilege to enjoy warm ties with the Royal Palace of Belgium.
On May 7, 2024 we will have the great honour and pleasure to welcome His Majesty King Philippe, highlighting the importance of the Japanese investments in Belgium.
In the morning, we will welcome His Majesty the King to visit the R&D Centre, Toyota Motor Europe, with several meetings planned on-site, together with the BJA Board of Directors. This will be followed in the afternoon at the Royal Palace of Brussels with a Round Table where a selected group of major Japanese investors will exchange thoughts and visions on the Japanese investment climate in Belgium.
We are also honoured to welcome HE Mr Masahiro Mikami, Japanese Ambassador to Belgium, on this special occasion.
The BJA is most grateful for the presence and support granted by His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians on May 7 - a landmark event for the organization and its members.
