Three years after the entry into force of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), positive results are already visible. In addition, a Japan-EU Summit was held on May 12 to discuss a wide range of current important issues.
His Excellency Ambassador Masaki will share his views and insights for expanding and deepening EU-Japan cooperation by referring to recent events and current geopolitical challenges the world faces. He will also discuss the way ahead for EU-Japan business and trade relations.
Profile of HE Ambassador Masaki
Since 1984, Ambassador of Japan to the EU Yasushi Masaki has been serving his nation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has held many positions throughout his career, including Director for WTO Dispute Settlement and Director for International Legal Affairs, and most recently, Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau (2017–2020) and Deputy Assistant Minister (2014–2017). He has also worked as a minister at the Embassy of Japan to France. In October 2020, he was posted to the Mission of Japan to the European Union.
