BJA Friendship Committee Gathering among the Chrysanthemum

Join the BJA Friendship Committee in celebrating kikumatsuri (Chrysanthemum Festival) at the Japanese Garden in Hasselt. We’ll soak in the autumn hues and colourful carpet of Chrysanthemums in the tranquil garden while sharing seasonal Japanese finger foods and drinks and enjoying each other’s company with pleasant conversation in multiple languages.

The origin of an autumn Chrysanthemum celebration in Japan dates back to 910 during the Heian period. This much beloved flower is a symbol of longevity and is often used to decorate temples throughout the autumn season. The Japanese Garden in Hasselt worked with a local flower artist, Els Geerden and volunteers to transform the garden into a colourful and creative spectacle for the garden’s final highlight of the autumn season.

Fee

Participation to the BJA gathering is free of charge, however online registration is mandatory.

Please note that the entrance ticket to the garden needs to be purchased on the spot.
