Exclusive Event: Into the world of Maestro Kazushi Ono

Kazushi Ono is back in Brussels! This particularly passionate conductor, a phenomenon according to the world press, divides his time between Tokyo and Brussels from September '22, where he will start as music director of the Brussels Philharmonic.

The BJA welcomes you to Flagey on the afternoon of Tuesday 27 September for a unique event with Maestro Ono, in the presence of HE Mr Makita Shimokawa, Japanese Ambassador to Belgium and his wife, and Intendant Gunther Broucke of Brussels Philharmonic. Witness exclusively the very first rehearsal of conductor Kazushi Ono as music director of the Brussels Philharmonic. Afterwards, Kazushi Ono invites you for a personal explanation of the programme of his opening concert, at the piano in Studio 1. You are then invited to an intimate networking cocktail where you will also have the opportunity to enjoy Azumaya's Japanese teas and sweets, and speak with Maestro Kazushi Ono personally.

About Kazushi Ono

Kazushi Ono’s musical personality was formed by the cultures of both Japan, where he was born, and Europe, where he studied. His work reflects both influences and crosses styles and forms, from Baroque to new commissions and from orchestral to opera. He has worked in opera houses and concert halls all over the world and recently took over as Music Director of Brussels Philharmonic while also serving as Music Director of Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (TMSO) and Artistic Director of New National Theatre Tokyo.
