Exploring Innovation at Port Oostende - where Maritime Industry meets Research & Development
Tuesday 10 December 2024 Port Oostende
The Belgium-Japan Association and Chamber of Commerce (BJA) has the pleasure to invite the BJA members to an exclusive porcelain painting workshop in the Atelier of Mrs Catherine Sevrin, Porcelain Artist.
Learning and training with renowned international artists for 20 years, Mrs Sevrin specialized in the traditional technique of porcelain painting. She enjoys teaching the traditional style as well as the Modern and American styles, among others.
Painting on porcelain requires first to mix coloured powders with oil and turpentine. The colour is then applied on the porcelain using a purposely designed brush. Once all the patterns have been painted, the porcelain is fired for a few hours in a special oven at around 800°C. Porcelain painting does not require specific drawing skills.
Join us for this unique artistic experience!
