On the program, a captivating conference by Adina Mazzoni-Cernus and a koto and shamisen concert by Aki Sato, all enhanced by an exhibition by the artist Michel Mazzoni. An evening to explore this unique notion of space and temporality.
What is 間?
MA is a Japanese concept that embodies the space or interval between objects and events, playing on spatial and temporal dimensions. Represented by the kanji 間 (a sun between two doors), it symbolizes both what separates and what unites. In Japanese culture, MA is essential in aesthetics, architecture, music or calligraphy: it embodies the silence between two notes, the fluidity of spaces, and visual rhythm. More than a simple separation, MA values harmony and attention to detail, offering a holistic vision of beauty and the relationships between elements.
